The agritourism "L'Antica Fornace" (ancient brick-kiln) is located in the heart of Tuscany, betwe en Volterra and San Gimignano, a few hundred metres from the village of Cedri. It is immersed in the lush setting of the Tuscan hills, situated within the 39 hectares of the farm "La Fornace", surrounded by over 700 olive trees and 3000 metres of vineyard. The Building is found in a splendid panoramic position, at the highest point of the entire farm. The structure is completely renovated in the traditional Tuscan style both in terms of decoration and finishings with aged terracotta "mezzane" and wooden rafters. All the apartments have large kitchen-living room areas with Tuscan style kitchens fully equipped with home comforts (dish-washers, hobs etc...), duel air-conditioning and spacious double-rooms with wrought iron beds (some of which are tester). There are four double rooms available, two with panoramic views and spacious external balconies and two with views over-looking the a few hundred metres from the village of Cedri. From the spacious terrace you can observe unforgettable sunsets in complete relaxation, perhaps reading a book or sipping a glass of excellent Tuscan Wine. Despite the distance, it is even possible to see as far as the sea on clear days. A few metres from the farm, the restaurant "Il Gelso" (Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening) offers breakfasts on a daily basis. It is possible to taste our own-produced oil, wine e traditional products. Our services, include laundry facilities which use the vouchers available at reception. The farm is situated within the 490 hectares of the faunal reserve "Il Roglio", which offers the opportunity of splendid walking excursions and (with a bit of luck) the possibility of seeing many local species of animal, such as squirrels, hares, deers, pheasants

City of arts such as Pisa, Volterra, San Gimignano, Siena end Florence are just a few kilometres far from the farm holiday. You could also spend a few hours at the beach and seaside in the Etruscan Coast of Castiglioncello, Vada and Rosignano. The visit of the Buddhist tibetan centre in Pomaia is a chance of inter-religious meeting and relax.

Biological farm holiday You can find us in the Upper Cecina Valley. The main cultural centre of the area is Volterra, an important historical Etruscan city, even rich in Roman, Medioeval and Renaissance remains. The stony farmstead where we live is been recently restored respecting Tuscan architecture. The Podere l'Apparita is situated in front of S.Dalmazio, an ancient town 700m far. Here, the writer Carlo Cassola set his romance "Il taglio del bosco". We serve breakfast (B&B) and dinner (for half treatment) in the veranda with a good view on the 12th century Rocca Sillana, easily reached on foot. We serve meals of fine Tuscan cuisine and fresh organic garden produce (vegetarian food on request), we use only our organic extra-virgin olive oil in meals and tables.
